Atheists Say
Christianity; an athiest perspective.
Secular Perspective
I saw this quote online. It summarized stereotypical Christianity, including many of the topics that are misunderstood and argued over... but these topics are also great talking points! They cut to the chase on things we should be able to address without even needing our book. Instead we have confusion.
Christianity; The popular belief that a celestial Jewish baby who is also his own father, born from a virgin mother, died for three days so that he could ascend to heaven on a cloud and then make you live forever only if you symbolically eat his flesh, drink his blood and telepathically tell him you accept him as your lord & master so he can remove an evil force from your spiritual being that is present in all humanity because an immoral woman made from a man's rib was hoodwinked by a talking reptile possessed by an malicious angel to secretly eat forbidden fruit from a magical tree.
This response is prior to any peer review. There are areas that will be expanded, and if there are errors they are open for correction. We all have our perspective, but our perspective is limited to our viewpoint. I already know I don't have the perfect viewpoint, so I'm not afraid to adjust when appropriate, as long as it takes.
Latest updates will be posted here, but there are no updates yet...
Pieces to the puzzle.
There is a lot to unpack, but if you want to go on a serious trip here's the bags, and the receipts.
1) Popular Belief (The popular belief that)
2) Jewish Baby (a celestial Jewish baby)
3) Own Father (who is also his own father)
4) Virgin Mother (born from a virgin mother)
5) Dead Three Days (died for three days)
6) Ascend to Heaven (so that he could ascend to heaven on a cloud) - IN PROGRESS
7) Live Forever (and then make you live forever)
8) Sacraments (only if you symbolically eat his flesh, drink his blood)
9) Prayer (and telepathically tell him you accept him as your lord & master)
10) Evil Cleansing (so he can remove an evil force from your spiritual being)
11) Across All Humanity (that is present in all humanity)
12) Immoral Woman (because an immoral woman)
13) Adam's Rib (made from a man's rib)
14) The Reptile (was hoodwinked by a talking reptile)
15) Malicious Angel (possessed by an malicious angel)
16) Forbidden Fruit (to secretly eat forbidden fruit from a magical tree)
Separate from traditions.
Everyone is trying to do the best with what they have. We all try to square our life with our inner being. Most of us are making choices based on information from family and friends, and over time those circles can become wide (territory) and deep (generations). It's hard for a person to break free of these constraints. And it's natural to build a defense when hearing a different position. Nobody likes questioning themselves, and we can't question traditions without looking inside, so we just keep doing them... and that makes it even harder to break free.
The separation is real. If the denominations were not divided by the Bible, our practices would be in unison. Someone is out of line. Someone misunderstood. Whatever you want to call it? Churches break away from each other because they think things should be taught differently. I don't know what part you will disagree with, but this is non-denominational. It isn't a placard doctrine. I have a KJV Companion Bible with all the appendixes, a Strong's Concordance, and a desire to understand.
John 1: 1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
This establishes that the Word isn't just from Adam's time forward. It is from the very beginning. Before Adam. If we are disputing scriptures here in the flesh, what do you think they are doing in heaven? Exactly, the same thing. The scriptures are not just for us here. The souls in heaven aren't just laying around waiting for us to get done. They are at war over these scriptures.
Revelation 12: 7
And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
The war between God and Satan is for a religious position. That means they are studying their version of the scriptures, even if that means they are studying our version of the scriptures... either way. The fact is the scriptures are the documentation everyone is using to support their perspective, both here and on the other side. They are the same people Christ went and preached to during the time of the tomb. He didn't just fulfill a sign here, they knew He was coming and he freed many, because they study too.
Please keep an open mind, and knock on that door!
