Atheists Say

Christianity; an athiests perspective.

Christianity; The popular belief that a celestial Jewish baby who is also his own father, born from a virgin mother, died for three days so that he could ascend to heaven on a cloud and then make you live forever only if you symbolically eat his flesh, drink his blood and telepathically tell him you accept him as your lord & master so he can remove an evil force from your spiritual being that is present in all humanity because an immoral woman made from a man's rib was hoodwinked by a talking reptile possessed by an malicious angel to secretly eat forbidden fruit from a magical tree.

12) because an immoral woman

Eve was beguiled.

Morality is based on the distinction between wrong and right. It's a measurement of free will in those who are old enough, and stable enough, to be accountable for themselves. That means those who acted with intent. Not everyone who does something does so with knowledge of what they are doing. Even if the intent isn't there, choices have consequences.

Genesis 3: 1

Now the serpent was "more subtil than any" beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

Through Satan's subtilty Eve was deceived. That means she was tricked, and lied to. That's a lot different than immoral intent. Adam and Eve were walking around naked, and without shame. To suggest that because she ate an apple she suddenly realized that they were naked, and made covers from leaves simply has no context. Was that just one tree ever, out of all time? Where is this magical fruit now? There is not one example of a tree on earth without it's lineage.

Surely there's deeper meaning to that particular fruit, but to get there first let's correct Adam's rib.
