Atheists Say

Christianity; an athiests perspective.

Christianity; The popular belief that a celestial Jewish baby who is also his own father, born from a virgin mother, died for three days so that he could ascend to heaven on a cloud and then make you live forever only if you symbolically eat his flesh, drink his blood and telepathically tell him you accept him as your lord & master so he can remove an evil force from your spiritual being that is present in all humanity because an immoral woman made from a man's rib was hoodwinked by a talking reptile possessed by an malicious angel to secretly eat forbidden fruit from a magical tree.

10) so he can remove an evil force from your spiritual being

Hedge of protection.

We don't have an evil force in our spiritual being. We are eternal souls that are influenced by good and evil things. It is what we pursue that reveals what our inner being is truly like. We all are guilty to some degree. The question is if we choose to continue and pursue our sins, or are able to face them and overcome? These are the micro tests we face in our daily walk. Our goal is to recognize and repent. If we have a change of heart, and sincerely are able to stop what we're doing, then real repentance brings real forgiveness.

2 Peter 3: 9

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

God will keep his promises. The question is do you know what they are?

Isaiah 43: 26

Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.

He's saying tell me about my promise that justifies what you're asking in prayer? In order to do so you would have to be familiar with what scriptures support your position. Forget personal wants, and your concern for others is appreciated, but remind him of the promises that are for you.

From the basics of not giving us more than we can handle:

1 Corinthians 10: 13

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

AND a hedge of protection in our daily walk:

Job 1: 10

Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

AND even to come through the veil if necessary:

2 Kings 6: 17

And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

2 Kings 6: 18

And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the Lord, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

AND even future to the hour of temptation, which hasn't happened yet, but God wants you to know he protects his own:

Revelation 3: 10

Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

His promises are there, but so are the temptations and attacks from the other side. They are very real. If you're doing his work don't you think the enemy is going to target you as a priority compared to those who are lost? It's always proportionate.

Are you ready?
