1) Get Your Tools

Many of the divisions and misunderstandings come from reading scriptures that have been mistranslated, or edited to make reading easier. While these differences would not get between you and God, they will affect your ability to rightly discern what was written for our time. My favorite tools include:

Companion Bible

Strong’s Concordance

Smith’s Bible Dictionary

2) Find A Teacher

Very few people can pick up a calculus book and figure out the depth of the formulas, and even more so if they don’t have a math background. The Bible is much deeper and complex than any of our textbooks, and therefore having a good teacher is critical. The place I study is:

ShepherdsChapel

3) Share Your Fruits

With clear discernment and a working knowledge of the scriptures, a person is able to recognize the numerous modern parables of today. They are expressed through music, film, writing, storytelling, etc.  Each person shares their fruits according to their passion. A few of my fruits include:

BaTora

The Plan of Salvation

Cut 2 Chase

Wine Thief Home Page

Wine Thief is a 440-page work of fiction addressing the end-time events of the Bible as seen through a group of friends that experience it together. It tackles many of the major issues that science and theology wrestle with, clarifies the purpose of humanity, and outlines the key events that we will experience in our lifetime.

Take a journey with these friends as they work their way from Napa to Tahoe to set up camp after extra-terrestrials appear claiming to usher in the second coming. In the process you will learn what the Bible says about the events we will experience. Is there really a rapture? Is 666 a chip or tattoo? Is the anti-Christ an evil man who kills millions? What are the dramatic descriptions in Revelation really talking about? These questions and more are addressed and explained with clear, no-nonsense explanations.

I assure you that you will see the Wine Thief, and be able to withstand his promises. You don’t have to be a card-carrying Christian to understand this book, and the book is not designed to convert anyone from his or her belief, or non-belief. It is designed so that you can recognize the events and take action according to your own heart. The Gospel Armor exists because we are expected to stand our ground, and this will give you enough survival basics to ensure your spot.

The Wine Thief story begins during “some” March in Napa, California. Good friends having good times together. Several of them work at a local hotel restaurant, and they like to get together after work to unwind. They usually play Rock Band and have a few beers. After working with food all night nobody wants to eat. One night they have a group encounter with a UFO, and not too long after that the UFOs make public contact with Earth.

The main character, Seth, is a student of Pastor Flynn. Pastor Flynn teaches that in 1948 the prophecy of the Parable of the Fig Tree came to pass. This is important because Jesus taught that all end-time events would happen before that generation passes.  That puts an emphasis on the 70th week of Daniel’s prophecy, and nails down the “season” for the things written in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21, as well as the events written in the book of Revelation. In other words... the time is upon us.

Seth links the things they are experiencing to what is written, and he explains the details to his friends. They discuss many subjects like dimensions, dinosaurs, UFOs, Psalm 22, the three earth ages, and more. When things start to get shaky on an international level, Seth decides to head for the mountains to ride it out. Several of his friends join him in the journey, but they have to overcome the exodus of others who are trying to get out of the greater Bay Area. By the time they reach their destination the group is more than fifty people, but as the word gets out and the leader of the UFOs demands global alliance Seth’s group reaches more than ten thousand strong.

In writing this fiction I’ve been diligent to follow a few simple rules:

The context of biblical scripture must be upheld. Nobody knows exact dates, or who the Two Witnesses are, so the story can make up these characters as long as they stay within the borders of the scriptures. The same goes for events. This doesn’t predict a specific political strategy or outcome, but it does create a scenario that maps to what the scriptures indicate, and forces the characters to go to the mountains…

My intent is to present a general wholesomeness about the story. The primary goal for this work is to help people become familiar with what the Bible says about end time events. It is experienced by a group of people that I hope you grow to like as much as I have, but the characters will always be second to the greater truth driving the story. You won’t find any sex scenes, but we do deal with sexuality. You won’t find cussing, but it is implied in a couple of places. I don’t dwell on character flaws, but acknowledge that real people have real problems.

I don’t throw rocks, however... It is impossible to discuss end-time events without contradicting what differing groups teach. Some of the differences are lightly addressed, but the purpose is to acknowledge their presence and provide commentary on their distinction. If I misrepresent anything, I’m open to correction.

You are welcome to send in questions, because I have no problems revisiting positions I presented, and am always polishing what needs to be clarified. A trumpet is an instrument that takes a lot of practice (and maturity) to be truly artful.
